I don't have any questions, I just wanted to thank you for bringing life back to me.
I was so sick and now I am feeling as good as I did twenty years ago! It has been a long battle: no energy, aches and pains going from one
Dr. to the next. They told me it was anything from arthritis to depression; they had me on steroids for three years... All behind me now!
I just don't know how to thank you. I think it would be wonderful if you could just be everywhere with your caring heart. Information and the
real reason behind all of the bad, sick days that so many of us have had.
Sincerely, Jessica...@telusplanet.net

New research shows that sleeping is not only pivotal for staying awake at work, but preventing sick days as well. It was noted that people who sleep less that seven hours a night are thrice as likely to develop a respiratory illness after exposure to a cold virus compared to people who sleep eight hours or more. Researchers studied 153 men and women with an average age of 37. Participants reported how many hours they slept that night and also how comfortable their sleep was. This data was recorded for 2 weeks. Following this, they were then exposed to a rhinovirus, a common cause of the cold. Blood samples were taken 28 days later and their antibody response was measured. In addition to the effects of less sleep, people who slept less efficiently were more likely to develop a cold as well. It was noted that people who spent 92% or less time in bed asleep, meaning that they were just lying there awake or doing something else 8% of the time, were five and a half times more likely to catch a cold than those who had a 98% sleep efficiency rate. Researchers believe a reason for this is that sleep disturbances influence the regulation of various immune system chemicals such as histamines and cytokines.
