Natto Cuts Risk Of Heart Disease

Nattokinase is an enzyme that comes from fermented soy. New research shows that it may help to reduce blood clotting and cut the risk of heart disease.

Researchers studied 45 participants divided into 3 groups, depending on their health. 800mg of nattokinase was given every day for 2 months. Research shows that nattokinase was able to reduce factor VII, factor VIII, and fibrinogen levels. All 3 groups showed different drops in their clotting factors. Participants did not experience any adverse side effects from taking nattokinase.

Fibrinogen acts in hemostasis and helps determine blood and plasma viscosity. High levels of fibrinogen have been associated with cardiovascular disease. Factors VII and VIII have been associated with atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Nattokinase supplement sales have been doubling every year.
