Sunlight Needed To Reduce Metabolic Syndrome
Natural aging in older people shows a deficiency in Vitamin D. Exposure to sunlight helps arouse the Vitamin D in the skin and thus cuts the chance of budding heart disease and diabetes.
A study of 3,262 elderly people in China found that Vitamin D deficiency correlated with the metabolic syndrome, which is a mixture of metabolic and medical disorders that intensifies the possibility of getting diabetes or cardiovascular disease. 94% of the people had low levels of Vitamin D, and 42.3% of those people also had metabolic syndrome.
As people age, the skin is less capable of creating vitamin D. Therefore, older people need to spend more time outdoors to create the same amount of Vitamin D younger people develop.
