Omega-3 Deficiency: A Big Problem

Questions? Ask me!

Omega-3 deficiency, the number 6 killer of Americans causes 96,000 US deaths per year. This is more harmful than excess trans-fat intake.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Association of Schools of Public Health analyzed data from the US National Health Center for Health Statistics and saw that there were at least 70,000 preventable deaths annually due to OM3 deficiency.

Scientists are debating whether the lack of omega-3 comes from not eating enough fruits and vegetables, or the surplus of animal and processed foods.
