Eating Less Is Anti-Aging

A new monkey study shows that eating less food leads to longer life. 80% of the rhesus monkeys who were on a calorie restricted diet (1/3 less food) without being malnourished were still alive after 20 years, compared to only 50% of the other monkeys who ate whatever they wanted whenever they wanted to.

Therefore, restricting calories increases survival and decreases risk of developing age diseases. The calorie restriction lessens energy intake by 30% and reduces diseases related to age like cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and brain atrophy by 30 % also.

Furthermore, free eating monkeys had higher chances of developing diabetes or impaired glucose regulation. This might just become a complete prevention of diabetes. Calorie restriction also showed better brain health, especially the parts of the brain responsible for executive actions and motor control.
