Reduce Your Visual Fatigue

A new study is now showing that supplements containing zeaxanthin, lutein, and blackcurrant extract may prevent eye fatigue. Visual fatigue can be caused by many factors, like staring at the computer screen for long periods of time.

Lutein is a nutrient that can be found in leafy green vegetables and egg yolk. It is known for decreasing risk of age related macular degeneration (ADM).

In the study, subjects were randomly asked to take a lutein supplement or a placebo. After taking the pill for two weeks, the eye fixation related potentials (EFRP) were measured. The results suggest that a combination of lutein, zeaxanthin, and blackcurant extract can aid recovery from visual fatigue.
