I don't have any questions, I just wanted to thank you for bringing life back to me.

I was so sick and now I am feeling as good as I did twenty years ago! It has been a long battle: no energy, aches and pains going from one Dr. to the next. They told me it was anything from arthritis to depression; they had me on steroids for three years... All behind me now!

I just don't know how to thank you. I think it would be wonderful if you could just be everywhere with your caring heart. Information and the real reason behind all of the bad, sick days that so many of us have had.

Sincerely, Jessica...@telusplanet.net

Boost Immunity By Cutting Calories

A new study done by the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) found that consuming fewer calories not only helped with weight management, but also helped to boost the immune system. Immune responses usually decline as people age, but restricting calories has been shown to help these immune responses.

The study included 46 overweight (but not obese) participants aged 20-40 who were given calorie-restricted diets for half a year. Each volunteer went through a 6-week initial period where baseline study outcomes were measured. After that, they were randomly assigned to either follow a 30% or 10% calorie-restricted diet provided by the researchers.

The researchers used a skin test called DTH (delayed-type hypersensitivity) to measure the immune response at the whole body level. They looked at specific biologic markers and observed the way calorie restriction affected T-cell function. These tests measure the strength of cell-mediated immunity. Results showed that short-term calorie restriction could improve T-cell function and help in weight loss.
