Long comment: A minimum recommendation to lower blood pressure is 30 minutes 3 times a week. There are many aspects to exercising. First, is warm-up for 5 minutes, then work-out, then finally cool down to bring the heart rate back down slowly. Make sure to check with a physician before pushing yourself too hard. It is not good to go overboard. The heart rate and blood pressure has to be sustained for about 30-60 minutes to stay healthy.
