A: Detoxification (colonics, massage, foot reflexology, acupuncture, liver cleanse or chelation) is a good practice but the results vary greatly depending on the intensity, frequency, and timing. If a body is weak, aggressive detoxification may lead to excessive release of toxins. Unless the toxins can be promptly metabolized and cleared out of the body, they may accumulate. This can lead to retoxification reactions and weaken the body further. Care must be exercised, as it can trigger an adrenal crash. Those in AFS should therefore make very sure that the body’s nutritional reserve internally is well fortified and stable prior to commencing any such modality.
