A power green smoothie can give your day a boostEating plenty of vitamins and nutrients is essential for anyone who wants to add stamina and maintain a healthy lifestyle. There are a multitude of opinions and diets to choose from these days. However, it is important not to become caught up with fad diets that both set you up for failure and often aren’t sustainable for a long-term lifestyle. Incorporating a power green smoothie into your routine is one sure way to put you on the path to success.

Drinking smoothies is one of the easiest ways to pack a mountain sized portion of fruits and vegetables into our diets. For many people, it is much easier to blend your vegetables than to eat a huge plate full of greens and fruit. However, even this isn’t the most beautiful aspects of smoothie consumption. They are simply delicious.

Why Use a Bowl?

It’s a familiar practice to blend a morning smoothie and drink it down.

However, there is an added benefit to putting it into a bowl. All of the extras you can use! Not only can you add to the thickness of the smoothie to make it more nutrient dense, but you can also add some delicious toppings such as coconut, hemp seeds, and granola, just to name a few, to supercharge your already jam-packed healthy bowl. Pretty much any healthy morsel you’ve kept in your pantry for a little snack can be added to the bowl to create a flavor profile that suits your palate.

This technique can transform a simple nutrient-consumption session into an enjoyable mealtime experience. It is very important when considering how to add healthy options to your diet that the program can be easily maintained and can be enjoyable.

This is where many people run into problems. Often times we find out about a new and trendy diet formula to make us feel better. Many times these programs are quite healthy and even work, but they lack an extremely important aspect – enjoyment. The simple reality that a power green smoothie bowl can be sweet like a desert, with the addition of frozen bananas, contain healthy fats and richness through items like avocado, and even contain flax seeds for fiber, is amazing. It’s an all-in-one, go-to breakfast for the health conscious individual.

This may not be the best option for everyone. It’s not easy to argue against smoothies in the morning but there are always those with special circumstances, such as diabetes, who need to take care in monitoring sugar consumption, or allergies, who need to make sure they tailor recipes to their needs. However, there are nearly endless combinations that can be assembled to produce what is right for you.

Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome and NEM Stress Response

Do you often feel run down, depressed, worn out, and just plain tired? There is a high probability that you suffer from what is known as Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome (AFS). The adrenal system is part of the body’s defense against outside threats. What happens when we don’t take care of our bodies is that this system does not have the tools it needs to continually respond to threats, and this can lead to adrenal exhaustion. Many variables contribute to AFS, such as stress, lack of sleep, and nutrient malabsorption.

There is another system for handling stress in the body that is known as the NeuroEndoMetabolic (NEM) Stress Response. Through this system, the body receives stress signals and converts them into commands that the body uses for actionable responses. This process is mainly handled by the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) hormonal axis. The main organs that respond to this burden are the adrenal glands, which is how the NEM stress response ties into AFS.

Fight Back Against AFS with A Power Green Smoothie

Flax seed can be added to your power green smoothie.Consistent and proper nutrient intake is extremely important when attempting to cope with the AFS. When the adrenal glands are exhausted and the body has depleted its ability to respond to stress with cortisol, it is extremely important to replenish cells with vital nutrients.

A power green smoothie bowl can be easily digested and absorbed into the gut. Smoothies are a very simple way to add items like flax seeds, avocado, bananas, and a cornucopia of healthy options to your diet. This is important because two of the direct causes of adrenal fatigue are malabsorption and maldigestion of nutrients. If you can’t absorb nutrients because of an overused and abused digestive system, smoothies could be the solution to get your system back into proper working order.

There is a common vice that many of us use to make ourselves alert and attentive, and that vice is coffee. Excessive caffeine intake is a detriment to the body’s natural mechanisms for stress response. There is a direct link between excessive sugar, caffeine, and problems in the body’s NeuroEndoMetabolic (NEM) Stress Response. A power green smoothie can be the perfect way to jumpstart the body with healthy unprocessed sugars from fruit and the natural carbohydrates that your brain craves to operate with efficiency.

There is much to be gained from substituting out harmful substances like caffeine and replacing them with micronutrients, which are abundant in power green smoothies. This allows the NEM system to operate without hindrance to the GI tract, heart, and brain. It’s vital that the body is afforded the proper nutrition to provide the neuroendocrine system with the tools it needs to function effectively.

Will it Work for You?

There are pros and cons to everything we put into our bodies, but the evidence shows that there are few downsides to consuming large amounts of fruits and vegetables. Alternative health and proper dietary practices can be a great approach to improving well-being and jump starting AFS recovery. It doesn’t need to be a daily ritual, but it also is worth remembering as a positive method for improving the way you feel on a day to day basis.
