I seem to have “healthier” bowel movements and less fatigue when I eat foods I tend to avoid, such as foods that are considered unhealthy. Why would this happen?

Unhealthy food in general tend to be processed, filled with preservatives, artificial food coloring, saturated with oil, and harder for the body to breakdown. Those with AFS usually have a GI system already under fire and decompensating. To process unhealthy food places extra burden on the body and thus the body tends to react with inflammation, and become more fatigued. Remember that the body needs energy in everything it does. The less it has to work, the more energy is in the reserve tank. Managing this reserve is not easy, as toxic food is all around us.
