I tend to get light headed in the late afternoon


Q: I tend to get light headed in the late afternoon, is this effect of my blood sugar dropping? What should I add to my daily diet to fix this?
 

A: Physiologically your body is lowest in blood sugar in the late afternoon. This is made worse if you are in advance stages of AFS where the body “runs out of steam” during that time. Try eating a snack with some complex carbohydrates one hour before the onset of the light headed feeling. Do not wait for your symptoms to appear to take action as it will be too late.
