What causes canker sores?

They are caused by a form of Herpes virus that is ubiquitous. As long as your defense and immune system are uncompromised, the virus is kept under bay. Some people are more prone to having canker sores flair up when they are stressed, lacking of sleep, or imbalanced internally.
