To truly live a healthier life, it’s no longer enough to just eat right and exercise. Aside from doing these, you need to also become more proactive when it comes to staying away from anything that may be harmful to you. This includes radiation. Specifically, it’s best to reduce EMF or electromagnetic field radiation around you. If you don’t, frequent EMF exposure can pose a serious health hazard, triggering conditions like chronic tiredness and depression.

What is EMF?

The nerves relay signals by transmitting electrical impulses. Several internal biochemical reactions also occur due to charged particles being rearranged. One study conducted by the Istanbul University in Turkey and the Hiroshima University in Japan found that this electromagnetic field can cause leukemia in babies whose mothers were exposed during late pregnancy. Their research also found that exposure is linked to significant risk for fertility levels.

Intermediate Frequency Fields

Intermediate frequency fields are increasingly found in devices today. These include anti-theft devices, computer screens, wireless chargers, and more.

According to various research, the effects of this type of electromagnetic field include increased sperm motility among males, neuroinflammation, and changes in memory function. There is also some research that suggests a link between intermediate frequency fields and cardiovascular function.

Radio Frequency Fields

In one study involving Norwegian Navy employees, it was found that exposure to UHF, VHF, and HF transmitters in radar was linked to an increase in the prevalence ratio of congenital malformations, perinatal deaths, and stillborn cases.

EMF and Adrenal Function

Essentially, your body depends on your adrenal glands to support various functions while also dealing with stress. In fact, it is exactly during a stressful situation where your adrenals facilitate certain reactions so that you can take on a more defensive role.

In times of dire stress, your adrenals trigger a fight-or-flight response in the body. As this occurs, your adrenal cortex synthesizes glucocorticoids and hormones that help you better cope with the situation. According to a study conducted by the Ondokuz Mayis University and the Inönü University in Turkey, EMF exposure led to an increase in the volume of the participants’ adrenal glands. There was also a significant increase in the adrenal cortex thickness. The study further showed that the exposure led to an increase in the volume of the adrenal medulla, which altered the structure of the adrenals.

Any enlargement of the body’s adrenal glands is linked to adrenal insufficiencies. As a result, the body may suddenly lack enzymes it needs to keep the adrenals in balance. Because of this, the body may even become unable to produce enough cortisol, the hormone primarily responsible for fighting off stress. This, in turn, disrupts the body’s NeuroEndoMetabolic (NEM) Stress Response. In fact, increased EMF exposure activates your body’s stress response. As a result, you may experience elevated cortisol levels. This triggers hyperactivity and the weakening of your adrenals.

Furthermore, when nothing is done to improve the adrenals’ condition, this electromagnetic hypersensitivity can cause the body to suffer from chronic stress. As things continue to get worse, Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome (AFS) may eventually result.

How You Can Effectively Reduce EMF Exposure

Reduce EMF by groundingAs soon as you can, you must take necessary steps to significantly reduce EMF exposure in your life. This is the best way to avoid experiencing electromagnetic sensitivity or worsening adrenal fatigue.

There are many ways that this can be done. Earthing or grounding is the easiest way to get started. Simply walk with bare feet on wet grass or damp soil.

It may be best to consult with a specialist regarding some suggested remedies that involve taking supplements or undergoing a procedure. This is especially true if you have any preexisting conditions or adrenal fatigue. That said, here are some options that you can take into consideration today:

Put some distance between you and your mobile phone.

While it’s understandable that you need your mobile phone with you almost all the time, it really helps to keep it away from your body when not in use. Mobile phones are known to have significant radio frequency fields. When you are constantly using your phone, you become exposed to it more and more.

Radiation exposure tends to decrease significantly over a distance of at least three feet, so try to put your phone down somewhere further from you while you are charging it. Try using a Bluetooth device to keep it away from your body while you are talking, which has a lower level of radiation, and carry it in a pouch or bag instead of a pocket. You may also want to cover your phone with a protective pad so that its radiation won’t spread as much.

Unplug appliances when not in use.

A good number of appliances today are relying on wireless technology, which tends to carry significant EMF radiation. These include everything from your coffee machine to your microwave. To reduce EMF exposure, it really helps to unplug all these appliances when they are not in use. In doing so, you not only protect your body but also save on energy bills.

Take some EMF protection supplements.

Today, there are several available nutritional supplements, which can help protect your body from radiation. Among them is iodine, which helps remove any heavy metals in the body that can further cause electromagnetic radiation problems. Spirulina also provides cell protection against EMF.

Aside from these, you can also take noni, a plant that helps enhance the body’s ability to adapt to electromagnetic radiation stress. It does this by correcting imbalances in the affected body systems.

Be careful only to take these supplements in low doses because they carry the risk of triggering adrenal crashes. The more advanced the state of AFS, the higher the risk. A body that is hypersensitive or has experienced paradoxical reactions typically does not fare well on these supplements. The dosage and delivery system also plays a major role in the efficacy, so make sure you consult with a doctor before trying these.
